Smartphone Motorola Moto G5, Review

Motorola Moto G5 – 5-inch mid-sized with good value for money. In the novelty, you can select a fingerprint scanner, quick charging function, a good camera and a high-quality display. In general, special attention is paid to three parameters: the quality of shooting, screen resolution and the duration of the smartphone without recharging.

The smartphone has no serious drawbacks, except for a thick body and design for an amateur.

Dimensions and design

Design Motorola Moto G5 can not be called original. Nevertheless, it is recognized through the design of the main camera. The smartphone has rounded shapes, a 5-inch display and a Home button with a fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the screen. The case of Motorola Moto G5 is made of aluminum, and plastic inserts under the antennas pass from above and below. The rear panel is significantly curved, but the camera and the “M” logo no longer protrude. Curiously, but despite the metal in the case, the cover and the battery on the phone are removable. Another chip can be called a water-repellent coating of the case, which will help in case of rain or spilled liquid on the smartphone. The claimed dimensions of the Motorola Moto G5 with a weight of 145 grams are 144.3 × 73 × 9.5 mm. So, it’s pretty big, but relatively light. For comparison, 5-inch Huawei Nova slightly heavier, but much more compact. Motorola Moto G5 will be available in gray and gold.

Moto G5 received a 5-inch screen with Full HD-resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels) and IPS-matrix. The pixel density is 441 per inch – a high figure and a guarantee of a clear image. Apparently, the viewing angles are wide. In general, the display looks good.

Motorola Moto G5 is equipped with cameras with typical resolutions of 13 and 5 MP. The main one received the F / 2.0 aperture and phase focusing. At first glance, she shoots at a quite decent level. A 5-megapixel front camera has a standard F / 2.2 aperture.

The set of communications Motorola Moto G5 is typical for today:

Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n

Support for LTE (Cat.4)

Bluetooth 4.2

FM radio

Micro-USB 2.0 connector

You can also note the support of two nanoSIM-cards.

The Motorola Moto G5 uses a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 2800 mAh. This is a good indicator for 5 inches, but no more. The manufacturer promises one day of work without recharging. The phone supports fast charging – it is stated that a few minutes from the network will be enough for an entire hour of work.

Speaking of performance, it should be noted that the 8-core chipset Snapdragon 430 with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz – a very good indicator for the smartphone. This is an entry-level solution, but it’s enough for smooth operation without delays. The Moto G5 is not the most powerful graphics accelerator Adreno 505, but it will be enough for many games.

Motorola Moto G5 is equipped with 16 or 32 GB of permanent memory. This is the average figure that should suffice for a standard set of applications, as well as a small collection of music and photos. I am glad that the memory capacity can always be expanded with a card of up to 256 GB, and a separate slot is allocated for it.
